What is a “Qualified Medication Aide”?<\/b><\/font><\/u>
A QMA is an individual who has satisfactorily completed the state approved 100-hour qualified medication aide course, passed the state-approved competency evaluation test, and received state certification. <\/font><\/i>

What Does a QMA Do?<\/b><\/u><\/font>
A QMA Works Under the Supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, Performing Skills Listed within the Indiana<\/i> QMA Scope of Practice<\/font><\/a>.<\/b><\/font> <\/i> 
QMAs Follow Physician Orders within the Medication Administration Record, Such as Dispensing and Administering Medications and Applying Treatments to Minor Skin Conditions.<\/i><\/font>
<\/font><\/font>
<\/font>Simulated-Lab is Available for Additional Practice of QMA Skills:<\/b><\/font><\/u>
Training Manikins are available to practice QMA skills, such as applying dressings to minor wounds, changing a colostomy bag, and administering medications via different routes, such as G-tube.<\/i><\/font><\/font>
(<\/i>No Additional Cost\/Call to Schedule Lab Time\/Located in Plainfield, IN<\/i><\/u>).   <\/i>

<\/font><\/font>Insulin Administration Course:<\/b><\/font><\/u> Optional for QMA Students who would like to earn their QMA and Insulin Administration certificates.  The optional insulin administration course is an additional $350 (Non-Refundable). <\/font>
